José Hernandez, Esq.

José Hernandez is a New Jersey Supreme Court Certified Civil Trial Attorney with over 30 years of experience in personal injury litigation. As one of fewer than 2.5% of attorneys in New Jersey with this certification, he brings exceptional expertise, careful preparation, and thoughtful guidance to every case. Fluent in English and Spanish, José is dedicated to ensuring all clients feel understood, supported, and informed throughout the legal process.

José has represented clients in State and Federal courts in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Colorado. His experience spans a wide range of personal injury matters, including motor vehicle accidents, nursing home negligence, workers’ compensation, product liability, medical malpractice, construction site injuries, trucking accidents, and premises liability cases. He has extensive experience handling complex cases, guiding clients through challenging circumstances with care, clarity, and compassion.

Beyond his legal practice, José is committed to supporting the broader legal community. He has served as a municipal court public defender and as a member of the New Jersey Supreme Court Office of Attorney Ethics, District I Ethics Committee. He regularly teaches trial advocacy to lawyers across New Jersey and speaks at ethics seminars. He is also a proud member of the New Jersey Association for Justice, where he serves on the Board of Governors.

Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, José earned his undergraduate degree from Rutgers University in 1989 and his Juris Doctor from Widener University School of Law in 1994. Outside of the office, he enjoys engaging with his community, mentoring younger attorneys, and bringing the same care and dedication to his personal and professional life that he provides to every client.
