On September 16th and 17th, Shamong, New Jersey was bustling with people from all over for the Valenzano Family’s highly-anticipated Wine Fest.

This annual festival included 175 locally produced wines, 2 main stages of headline entertainment from local bands, dozens of top street vendors from New Jersey and Philadelphia, and tents for rent for larger parties and businesses. People from all over South Jersey and beyond gathered together, bringing lawn chairs and spreads of food to enjoy over an assortment of delicious wines. The Valenzano Family Winery partnered with the Community Care Food and Clothing Pantry, who provided a beer garden with tastes from local breweries. From this event, Valenzano brought in lots of donations, including a donation from Grungo Law, which supported local businesses and aided in the fight against hunger and insecurity in South Jersey.

The team at Grungo Law looks forward to this event every year because of the opportunity it provides for us to connect. Our team members bring their family, friends, and significant others, and we have an amazing time connecting over great conversation, amazing wine, and lots of laughs.

Hunger in New Jersey

We are in a battle against poverty and food insecurity that affects our neighbors, coworkers, and friends. This is a hidden struggle that many organizations and groups are illuminating by providing useful services and resources. Over 725,000 people in New Jersey face hunger every day, with 175,000 of them being children, according to the Community FoodBank of New Jersey (CFBNJ), an anti-hunger and anti-poverty organization in the state of NJ.

The Community Care Food and Clothing Pantry is just one of many local organizations dedicated to helping families and other members of New Jersey break free from insecurity. This is a nonprofit organization that aims to eliminate hunger in South Jersey. This organization serves anyone in need of food and clothing free of cost in a “client choice” model. The Community Care Food and Clothing Pantry operates a minimum of four times a month for scheduled distributions, and partners with social service agencies for emergency support.
